Hello
On October 31, 2019, the virtual exhibition "Spatial Memory - A Memory in 360°" opened at the Media Theater of Humboldt University in Berlin.
A dedicated website was created for the Media Theater in the summer semester of 2018. The perfect basis to virtually duplicate the space with a 3D visualization. To do this, let's dev photographed the space at Humboldt University in Berlin and then stitched the individual shots together to create a panoramic image. This panoramic image evokes the atmosphere of the media theater.
In order to give the virtual space another function than that of merely existing as an image of the media theater, Denise Wagner from Humboldt University decided to create an exhibition space. For this purpose, student works from previous semesters that were presented in the media theater were selected and the fragments available in the media were located in the info points. Users can navigate through the exhibition in virtual space via smartphone or tablet and view the individual works.
let's dev created the recordings, designed and implemented the application.
The exhibition was ceremoniously opened by the director of the media theater Dr. Leitner on 31.10.19, who once again thanked let's dev and the two managing directors Christian & Karl-J. Wack very much for their generous support. Karl-J. Wack introduced himself, the company and the project in this context. Denise Wagner also thanked Karl-J. Wack & his team for the great cooperation and the great result.
Furthermore, the exhibition concept and the vernissage were explained as well as the hint in the invitation "bring your own device". The invited guests followed the QR code into the exhibition and then experimented with the technology in the room, which was connected to the virtual space during livestream.
The vernissage was the conclusion of a successful cooperation between Karl-J. Wack, managing director of let's dev and Denise Wagner, curator of the exhibition, student of art and visual history as well as media studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin.
The exhibition is still online and can be visited here: Media Theater
