Official opening of the Consolidation and Expansion Center (FUX)

Previously known as the Growth and Consolidation Center, the building on the site of the Alter Schlachthof has now been given its final name in time for the official opening on April 12, 2019: Consolidation and Expansion Center, or FUX for short. This was chosen as the winner from a large number of suggestions in an open naming competition held by Karlsruher Fächer GmbH.

The FUX was opened with a speech by the first mayor Gabriele Luczak-Schwarz. This was followed by Prof. Birk, who as architect presented the building and energy concept, Prof. Dr. Christian Braun of Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, Mr. Karl-J. Wack, Managing Director of let's dev GmbH & Co. KG and Ms. Jennifer Kastner from FUNKYBOOTH.

"We are pleased to celebrate the opening of the FUX and the associated milestone for the creative park Alter Schlachthof with you", said Karl-J. Wack in his speech.

let's dev moved into the premises in the Remise in 2013 with eight employees at the time. Almost at the same time was the opening of Perfect Futur, which laid a foundation stone for the development of the area.

"Over the years, we have grown with the Kreativpark and see ourselves as an offspring of the Altes Schlachthof. We can look back on successful years on the site, which we value very much. The rapid development of our company quickly presented us with challenges in terms of space requirements. Together with Karlsruher Fächer GmbH, we always found very good solutions."

In 2015, for example, let's dev additionally rented the cold storage warehouse in order to be able to accommodate the company's growth in terms of space.

"For us, the opening of the FUX is a special moment. As an anchor tenant, we move into the 1st floor and have enough space for further growth as well as creative freedom on almost 800 sqm. For us, this marks the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in our still young company history", says Karl-J. Wack.

Conceptually, the building follows on from the aforementioned Perfekt Futur start-up center, which provides space in former sea freight containers for founders from the cultural and creative industries. In the FUX, companies that have successfully outgrown the start-up phase are to be given the opportunity for further development.

The consolidation and expansion center, which is located at the eastern end of the site adjacent to Messplatz, has an area of around 3,300 square meters and sufficient space for office space, seminar rooms and a coworking space.
