After a two-year hiatus, DevFest 2019 took place on November 2 at the betahaus Hamburg coworking space. DevFest events are organized by local Google Developer Groups (GDG).
The one-day conference will cover topics related to developing products in conjunction with Google products. The topics are well suited for developers with little but also with a lot of programming experience. Through this, participants had the opportunity of a free ride with Moia on this day.
Chet Haase gave the opening talk about the development history of Android from version 1.0 until today. As a user of the Android API, this gave an insight and a different perspective on the platform.
This was followed by presentations focusing on Android, cloud and mobile development. These presentations covered topics such as Android modularization, Flutter with hands-on examples, Kotlin Multiplatform and Uber's RIBs architecture. The day concluded with a humorous talk on quality in software development.
