Gemini and AI
Last but not least, Apple is focusing on AI, as presented in the last
blog post.
With the latest release of Android 15, Google is also focusing on the integration of AI
through the newly developed Gemini tool. This innovative language model is designed to
significantly improve the user experience by offering features that increase
productivity and facilitate access to the latest developments in communication and
media. Users can also look forward to practical applications such as AI-generated images
and content summaries.
Another highlight is the ability to find specific information via "Circle to Search"
without having to switch apps. Gemini's AI technology will also be integrated into
various areas to enhance privacy and provide a safer overall user experience. With these
advancements, Google is demonstrating how AI can revolutionize the smartphone
experience.
In addition to practical applications, Gemini will also help make the overall user
experience more intuitive: The integration of AI into everyday workflows will be
supported by features such as "Summarize Video," which allows you to summarize important
information from long content. There is also a new option called "Summarize PDF" that
provides quick answers without having to scroll through endless PDF pages. These
advances not only increase efficiency, but also ensure that users are always in control
of their data and content.

Circle to Search
With the new „Circle to Search“ feature, Android is revolutionizing the way users find
information. Instead of having to switch between apps, smartphone users can simply
circle, highlight, scribble or tap to select exactly what they are interested in and get
information instantly.
A practical example of this feature is searching for an outfit in a video without
interrupting the content. By simply circling the desired item, similar products from the
web are displayed directly. Another example of using „Circle to Search“: If you come
across a delicious dish while scrolling through a social media platform, for example,
you can simply circle the photo to see the list of ingredients and cooking instructions.
The Google AI feature is already available on many Samsung and Google smartphones and
tablets, and will be available on other Android devices in the future.

Performance and Privacy
Android 15 places a strong emphasis on privacy and has added several new features to
enhance user security. An important new feature is the redesigned „File Integrity
Manager“, which provides better file encryption and tamper protection. In addition, the
„Privacy Sandbox“ has been enhanced to develop privacy-friendly advertising solutions
that also respect users' privacy. In addition, users can now directly see when
applications start recording, providing an additional level of transparency and
security.
Android 15 also brings significant advances in performance. The „Dynamic Performance
Framework" improves power management by separating applications into efficiency and
performance modes. This not only extends battery life, but also enables users to use
their smartphones more efficiently. The system also loads web content faster, making
browsing and using applications smoother overall. All of this is designed to keep
Android devices not only powerful, but also secure.
Conclusion and Availability
The Android 15 update brings a number of significant improvements that simplify users'
daily lives and enhance the performance of their devices. With the introduction of AI
features such as Gemini, the intuitive „Circle to Search“ feature, and enhanced privacy
protections, Google continues to focus on usability and security. Performance
optimizations improve power management and ensure more efficient use. All in all,
Android 15 delivers a powerful combination of innovation, security and optimized
performance for smartphone users. Android 15 will be available on October 15 for all
sixth-generation Pixel smartphones.
Other manufacturers are expected to follow suit and roll out the updates between the end
of this year and early 2025.
