Today, field devices that communicate with each other form the basis for automated processes in industrial plants in many sectors such as the chemical, pharmaceutical, and oil and gas industries. The Karlsruhe-based company CodeWrights specializes in the development of software drivers for the smooth integration of such devices. The developed Industry 4.0 app PlantBuddy supports diagnostics and maintenance work in industry. With the help of an interface between the installed devices and the app, orders can be sent to technicians. This makes it easier to coordinate any maintenance work and repairs that may be required in large industrial plants.
All current as well as completed processes are summarized in an overview. For new jobs, the integrated map shows the technician the exact location of the system to be repaired. He receives information about the possible fault diagnosis, which was determined with the help of the measured values. If maintenance is required, measures are also derived to rectify the problem.
