Technological progress in the IT industry is primarily attributable to small and
medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which today account for 90% of IT companies in Germany.
Due to their great industry-specific know-how as well as their special proximity to
customers, SMEs often recognize the needs of the market earlier and can respond with
new, innovative approaches to solutions.
For this reason, the BMBF has launched the "KMU-innovativ" funding measure. The core
objective of the initiative is to simplify and accelerate the application for and
approval of funding for SMEs. In addition, companies are allowed to define the content
and topics of the funded projects themselves. With the help of the funding, SMEs should
be able to strengthen and expand their business field and become more competitive.
For the conference, the Federal Ministry has invited various representatives of small and
medium-sized enterprises of the promotion. During the two-day event, participants will
be able to network and exchange ideas. In addition to keynote speeches, the program also
includes panel discussions on various topics of digitalization such as Industry 4.0 and
data engineering.
Let's dev GmbH & Co. KG will present a demonstrator together with the participating
companies from the consortium of the BMBF-funded research project Data Sovereignty
Manager (DaSoMan). In addition, our CEO Karl-J. Wack will take part in a panel
discussion on security and data protection in the digital world.
