The People's Republic of China is one of the most important markets for digitization
technology. Many startups are focusing on the Internet+ Expo because they hope it will
give them a foothold in the Chinese market.
The DaSoMan research project developed by let's dev together with the German Research
Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), DURY Legal and Mondata GmbH, was presented in
a talk by André Rinau at the Internet+ Expo.
The Data Sovereignty Manager (DaSoMan)
Since May 25, 2018, the application of the GDPR has been mandatory, resulting in a
Europe-wide legal framework for the storage and processing of personal data. The Data
Sovereignty Manager, DaSoMan for short, supports web app and app providers in complying
with this legal framework.
DaSoMan is designed to give end users greater transparency and decision-making power over
the use of their data. To this end, the software manages the end user's data and
authorizations, provides him with information if the data transmission allows
conclusions to be drawn about his identity, and allows him to change his user settings
accordingly. At the same time, the Data Sovereignty Manager offers the possibility of
legally compliant handling of user data. The data is transmitted anonymously in
compliance with the law and analyzed at the same time, so that the data processor still
receives the information that is important to him.
