A total of 65 participants divided into 15 teams took part in the competition. The
challenge started on Friday at 5 p.m. and ended 24 hours later - with the presentation
of the results in front of the jury and the other participants. The event took place in
the Silberturm, an impressive location in Frankfurt am Main.
Let's dev also provided a team and realized an Android smartwatch application as well as
an Android app for smartphones within the 24 hours. The smartwatch app maps various
functions:
- Navigation to the tracks at stations
- Information on seat reservation (carriage number, track section)
- Current travel information (delays, transfer time, connecting trains, DB Lounges)
- Ticket information
The Android smartphone app obtains the required data in JSON format and prepares it so
that the data can be processed by the smartwatch. The Android smartphone app
communicates with the smartwatch app via Bluetooth Low Energy (LE).
With the project idea, the realization as well as the successful presentation the team
prevailed against other exciting and impressive projects and secured the category award
"Best Presentation". In addition to the video published
by the organizer, a few impressions of the event can be found below. Our thanks go to
